The most recognizable part of the Proton Pack has to be the Cyclotron. Dan Aykroid hand a hand in designing all of the Ghostbusters equipment for the film. The Cyclotron on the proton pack is based on a real physics concept (Cyclotron physics). When designing props, it really helps to understand what the prop is based on in real world items.
For this build I used pages 2 and 3 of the Stefan plans (Page 2, Page 3).
The materials
- Quarter inch and eighth inch MDF two by four feet
- Half inch pre-finished Birch plywood
- Nine inch cake pan
- One and a quarter inch PVC pipe cut to two and a half inches long
- Three inch ABS DWV Coupling
- Two inch ABS DWV Coupling
